Man on the Moon (a day in the life of Bob) by Simon Bertram
Would you believe that there’s a man on the moon? No? Well he is not there all the time! In fact he leaves earth at a quarter to nine so he can get to work on the moon by 9 o’clock. He then runs moon tours for the day before cleaning up the moon and heading home to hit the 5 o’clock rush hour. Bob is the man responsible for Moon Tours, he loves his job, but he does not believe in aliens!
This book tells an engaging story about a day in the life of Bob from the time he gets up until he falls asleep at night. But what makes this book so special is the fantastic illustrations that support the story, and if you look closely enough you will see that maybe Bob is not always so aware of what goes on on the moon, or on earth either.
This is a book for boys and girls and parents alike, and also children a little older who think they are beyond picture books but will still appreciate the humour in the juxtaposition of the story and the illustrations. And if you like this book, there are a whole series of Bob books, of which our favourite is Bob’s Best Ever Friend where a lonely Bob finds his forever friend.(in fact this one may be even better than the Man on the Moon!).
