Wonder by R. J. Palacio

Have you ever felt like you stand out? Well the main character in this book always feels like that. The book tells how he and others learn to deal with his difference when he starts going to Middle School.

The characters in this book are named August, Via, Jack-will, Summer and Miranda.
Here are their personalities and traits starting with August. He is just a normal kid like you or me except that he has a bit of a medical condition that makes him look different. Via is August’s sister and she is very protective of August and doesn’t like it when people look at him. Overprotective or what? Jack-will – normal kid, friends with August and overall nice guy. Summer, also friends with August, overprotective all the same. Miranda is Via’s friend, but not any more. Enough said.

I like this book because it is a tale of friendship and what life is like with a different face.

Overall I recommend this book to all ages because it teaches you that we are all the same no matter what you look like. It does this by telling a story from different points of view.

PS. I read half of this book in the morning before school, which starts at 9:30, so you can tell I liked it very much.
