I love it when I get reviews from children who do not usually read. To start the new year of reviews I have been lucky enough to have a contribution from a reluctant reader who found some time to tell me about his two recent reads.

What is the book about? This book is about a detective named Rory who can’t find his dad, he is on a mission but gets sidetracked when a man passes out.

Who is your favourite character and why? My favourite character is Wilkins who is Rory’s neighbour’s dog, he is a sausage dog.

What is your favourite part of the book? My favourite part of the book is where Rory and Connor made an Olympic stadium out of their leftover smoothie boxes for Connor’s guinea pigs.

Why is this book better than other books? I like this book because it is about a detective and there are not many kids detective book.

What is the book about? This book is about a funny kid named Max who runs for class president against his enemy Abby who is really smart. And finds out that she is not his only enemy and then he teams up with Abby and tries to beat Layla who is the teacher’s pet.

Who is your favorite character and why? The Duck is my favorite character because he spends the whole book following max around and driving him crazy.

What is your favorite part of the book? My favourite part of the book is where someone finds fake ballot papers to switch with the real one after everyone votes.

Why is this book better than other books? I really enjoyed this book because it was really funny and the story is about something kids might go through themselves.
